Darrent Bent officially the player of the year at Sunderand

Thousands of Sunderland fans have chosen Darren Bent as the clubs official player of the year after the 26-year-old scored 25-goals in all competitions for the club in his first season.

The Player Of The Year award was Bents second award by the club this year as he was also chosen as the Supporters player of the year.

Craig Gordon, goalkeeper at Wearside came second and captain Lorik Cana came third in the poll which tens of thousands of Sunderland fans took part in on the safc.com official Sunderland FC website.

Sunderland’s Jordan Henderson, won the Young Player of the Year award after having a very successful season. The 19-year-old is a regular at the clubs senior side and is considered as one of the most influential young talents at the Premiership.

David Meyler, came second and Ryan Noble came third for the Young Player of the Year award.
